While attending Utah State and majoring in mathematics, I married Lonnie Oman (49 years ago). When he was drafted, we moved to Ft Benning and then Ft Hood. We ended up in Utah and have lived in the Mapleton/Springville area for about 35 years. I spent 20 years raising 6 children.

When my youngest entered school, I enrolled at BYU to fill a dream. I got my BA in English in 1991 and then began working in the Marriott School at BYU. I finished my MA in American Lit in 1998. I have worked at the Marriott School for 26 years and still love it.

Along the way we lost two adult children to suicide, helped two children as they went through and conquered cancer, had horses, had a cattle ranch, and now have show rabbits. It has been our faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ and strong family ties that have helped us through it all and keep us smiling.

We still live in Mapleton, Utah, and enjoy 14 grandchildren, traveling, family, and friends.
